Palliser Lighthouse to Castlepoint Lighthouse Riders Cavalcade
Wednesday morning – ride out from Cape Palliser lighthouse
Thursday morning – ride out from the Barghs near Te Awaiti
Friday morning – ride out from Glenburn Station
Saturday morning (early) –ride out from Riversdale (crossing Whareama river) and into Castlepoint settlement by early afternoon

Evening: Light Display on Lighthouse (after dark)

10 am – Reunion of Former Lighthouse keepers and their families
11 am – one – two hour guided tour of the DoC Reserve with Gary Foster – Learn about the geology, dune ecology & more
12 noon – 5 pm – Lighthouse open to the public
Early PM – Cavalcade horses riding into Castlepoint from the South
7 pm – Celebration in the Old CP Woolshed ($15 single/$25 double), supper provided, cash bar, music, great stories, displays…

7:45 am – Buses leave from Tranzit (Masterton) to go through Castlepoint Station. Buses return to Masterton @ 6:30 pm ($25 for coach only)
Tickets available from Tranzit – 06 370 6600
9:30 – 11:30 am – Castlepoint Station open for drive through from the south OK for 2WD vehicles, sign posted from the Riversdale turnoff ($10/car donation requested - half to help cover event costs, half to Peter Laing Trust)
10 am – 5 pm – Lighthouse open to visitors
Throughout the day – Live Music, sheep shearing, & working dog demonstrations.
Also, wheelwright demonstration by Greg Lang
Old photos and memorabilia on display in St Peter’s Church
Commentary by former lighthouse keepers, & others
Food and drink will be available for purchase
There will be some stalls selling ‘lighthouse’ items
$40 Helicopter rides around Castle Rock and the Lighthouse
11 am – One to two hour guided tour of the DoC Reserve with DoC staff – Learn about the geology, dune ecology & more
1:00 pm – Book launch of ‘A Beam of Bright Light’ a children’s book about the Castlepoint Lighthouse written by Ali Foster
1:30 pm – Prize giving for children’s art competition
2:00 – 3:30 pm – Sand Castle Competition, Mass Kite Flying and Big Dig in the Basin
3:30 pm – Some Cavalcade Riders, riding their horses down the beach
4:00 pm – Sheep being mustered down the beach by Castlepoint Station staff on their horses and working with their mustering dogs
